Welcome to our pub and family home! We couldn't be happier to be the current custodians of such a special place - made by its friendly customers and loyal regulars!
Whilst the pub has been in our family for nearly 20 years, Simon and I (Vicky) officially moved here at 7pm on 20th March 2020... which gave us exactly 2 hours before pubs were closed and we all went into the first of the Covid lockdowns. There is a story there.
Many of you will have known my father Jon, who was Landlord here from 2004. When he passed away in 2022 we found ourselves truly at the helm and determined to keep his legacy of running a traditional, old fashioned, good old English pub.

We are proud to have such a fantastic team in our kitchen. Head Chef Adam joined us from Sankey’s in Tunbridge Wells, and together with his team, their hard work behind the scenes provides you with the tastiest of traditional pub dishes and beautiful specials.
We’ve always said that when you spend so much time at work, it’s important to be surrounded by good people…. and this team is a pleasure to work with! They love what they do and it shows in their food! We hope you enjoy the ever-changing Kentish Rifleman menu as much as we do.
