Local Real Ales, Good Wines & Light Bites
A cosy and intimate setting by our fire; a relaxed and friendly atmosphere greets guests in the Rifle Bar. The bar boasts low ceilings with original oak beams, a snug and stocked fireplace and plenty of space to settle in for a drink.
We normally run 4 real ales, Harveys from East Sussex, Tonbridge Ale and the other 2 being different brews from across the local area. The draught cider is produced in Biddenden and our Curious Brew lager from Ashford. We have our own Sharpshooter session lager, and only the Estrella and Guinness hail from farther afield. We are proud to once again feature in the "Good Beer Guide."
Wine, we buy a good range of both grapes and prices, from a family owned wine importer in Horsmonden. Fruit juices we also purchase locally, from Owlets in Lamberhurst, and both locals, regulars and visitors can enjoy their tipple in the warmth and atmosphere of the Rifle Bar.
We keep our taps fresh and interesting! We tyoically have 4 cask ales on tap and whilst Harveys and Tonbridge Breweries will always feature, we offer two seasonal and guest ales. We pride ourselves on showcasking as many Kentish drinks as possible – from juice to cider, lager to ale.
Absolutely. If beer or wine, isn't your thing, we pour a fantastic selection of spirits, including a handpicked mix of premium and local gins paired with quality tonics. We also know how important great choices are if you're driving or skipping the alcohol, so we stock a thoughtful range of mid-strenth, low and zero-alcohol alternatives that don't compromise on flavour.
